“fotographz” is the name i created to define my visual moment(s) in shadow and light. this is my identity.
being at see level is about showing you the visual moments not seen by others. i photograph without hesitation because you should never see an image and not photograph it to later wish you had … being at see level is also about “doing” — not thinking about doing.
i don't have a favorite subject, because what fuels my passion visually is the power that “light” can give any subject. there is nothing wrong with your eyes … just open them.
balance / coffee cups
the power of photography is how it makes you feel — my eyes show me what my heart feels.
in 1989 i reconnected to my humanity by photographing left behind coffee cups at cafes around los angeles and later the world. winter 2001, at a koffie haus in delft, netherlands, the cup i was sipping from seemed to whisper, “take me with you.” without hesitation the cup, saucer and spoon went into my pocket. it still travels with me every day.
photographing these cups lets me sometimes find that balance between holding “on” — or simply letting go.
